Video modeling as an autism treatment for behavioral social skills modification
- a unique way to teach!
Our approach to effective teaching is simple. See the world through a child’s eyes and you will engage them. When engaged, they learn.
Creating products with this philosophy in mind has enabled
to become the leader in special education video. Our proven method has become an effective tool for speech therapy, autism treatment, social skills and life skills training, play therapy, and behavioral intervention for children.
Teaching through video is referred to as video-modeling. This teaching method meets the CEC’s (Center for Exceptional Children) criteria for an evidence based practice. See our training resources section for scientific proof regarding the effectiveness of video modeling as an autism treatment as well as for the acquisition of play skills and life skills.
videos have received an exclusive endorsement by the National Autism Association as an effective autism treatment and an appropriate intervention for the acquisition of social skills.
Created by Mary Beth Palo, the mother of an autistic child, our educational videos have positively impacted the lives of thousands of children with autism, aspergers and other developmental delays.
To better support special education teachers, private therapists and parents,
social skills videos now reference child development inventories including Brigance® and ABLLS. By referencing acclaimed standards, the various people involved in treating a special needs child can more effectively integrate the child’s individual programming needs and lesson plans. This allows caregivers to choose lesson plans based on the defined objectives of each teaching module. Lesson plans are categorized by skill. Teaching objectives are categorized according to various skill groups such as motor skills, speech and language skills, social skills, play skills, life skills, academic skills and behavioral skills.
